Safeguarding Policy
The safety and well-being of every child, young person, and vulnerable adult I work with is of paramount importance. I am fully committed to safeguarding in all areas of my work, whether assessments are conducted in schools, homes, or other settings.
My Commitment: I take all reasonable steps to protect individuals from harm or abuse.
- I work in line with national safeguarding guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
- I follow clear procedures if I have concerns about a child’s welfare.
- I promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all.
Key Safeguarding Measures: Enhanced DBS Certificate: I hold an up-to-date enhanced DBS check, available on request.
Safeguarding Training: I complete regular safeguarding and child protection training in line with statutory requirements.
Professional Boundaries: I maintain appropriate professional boundaries at all times and act in the best interests of each learner.
Confidentiality: I handle personal and sensitive information with discretion, in line with GDPR and safeguarding best practices.
Working with Schools and Families: I work closely with designated safeguarding leads (DSLs) and follow school safeguarding protocols during in-school visits or sessions.
Raising a Concern: If a safeguarding concern arises during the course of assessment or consultancy work, I will:
- Follow appropriate procedures for reporting and recording the concern
- Inform the relevant designated safeguarding lead (DSL), school contact, or safeguarding authority as appropriate
- Ensure that actions taken are in the best interest of the child or vulnerable person
